Taga 1.0 is a multifunctional urban vehicle for parents and children. It combines a carrier bike and a premium stroller to create a new transportation modality. Taga enables parents to ride easily and safely with their children, while also carrying groceries or personal items around the city, leaving their car behind. During the ride, the child can see and experience the surroundings and the parent can watch and communicate with the child, making the ride a mutual adventure.

When reaching the target location (home, mall, café, indoor playground, clinic, etc.),Taga can be transformed into a standard-size stroller within 20 seconds, allowing the parent and the child to enter the premises, ride the elevator or ascend the stairs, leaving no parts behind. Taga can also be used on public transportation, enabling inter-city rides and a continuous outdoor-indoor trip.

The product is modular and versatile, allowing attachment of a wide range of accessories such as a hood, rain cover, seat for a second child, wooden seat for two children, shopping basket, side bags, infant car seat, and more.

Taga bike was a spin-off of Taga, created together with dutch Belgium and Latvian partners. Our vision was to bring innovation and new user experience to the cargo bike market. To make it more appealing to modern parents outside traditional markets such as the Netherlands and Denmark.

Creating a new product from scratch was challenging, but we took it all the way from design through mechanical engineering, development of the conversion mechanism and the sophisticated, non-traditional frame, building a full-scale production line of metal, plastics, textiles, and assembly in Taiwan and China, with more than 30 suppliers, and eventually dealing with complicated logistics, sales, marketing, and financing.

Taga 1.0 complied with 7 different safety standards in Europe, the USA, Israel, and Australia. It has a worldwide patent and it won 8 different international awards, including the red dot design award, and the two most prestigious awards in the bike and baby products industries.

The product was sold and shipped to more than 40 countries and is used for more than 12 years by many happy families without safety and mechanical issues. Even celebrities such as Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey and tv star tori spelling were happy Taga owners.

For Taga this experience is priceless and helped us to create a holistic approach towards the product’s life cycle and better understand our customers’ needs.
