TruScan Pro – Ophtalmic system

Lightmed’s TruScan is a surgery system for eye retina, which integrates a scanner and a laser device.

The market of laser systems for eye disease treatment presents a similar picture – most systems are fragmented – involving different parts from different sources assembled together. We were asked to generate a single system that comes with all parts built in, without the need for additional purchases or complicated assembly. Taga made the research, design, planning, production, and reshaped the user experience.

The idea of an all in one package with no external components or cables is the innovation – in a market un accustom to this notion. we created a very simple interface, a system that guides all the optical fibers in an invisible way, the interface is very user-friendly and we used a lot of off-the-shelf components. The bottom of the table is used for the storage and transferring of the optical fibers, the table is highly ergonomic, has relatively small footprint can be easily accessed and can be adapted to different sizes.

We also designed the digital UX-UI interface for the control panel of the TruScan. The main challenge was to make an interface which can be operated while the physician is focused on patient’s eyes, through the lenses. The system has large icons, on a dark background, to adapt to the specific surgery conditions.

The interface is responsive and can work on different sizes of screens and devices, as well as on landscape vs. profile views.
