T-edge10 – Autoclave

Tuttnauer has been a leading manufacturer of autoclaves, a traditional device that sterilizes medical tools, for almost a century, selling Autoclaves to clinics around the world. Sterilization of medical tools is crucial in every physician and dentist clinic, especially recently, with the Covid19 threat of cross-contamination between patients.

T-edge 10 is the company’s flagship product. It offers optimal chamber capacity, convenient and easy loading with door opening to 110º, assorted water filling and drainage methods, range of automatic one-button programs, user-friendly touchpad, and control panel, advanced documentation and traceability options, and remote Wi-Fi monitoring via smartphone or tablet.

The company wanted to upgrade its flagship product, by redesigning its overall appearance and improving the user experience while maintaining its old technology.

The project included in-depth research of competing devices, interviews of users, and study of usage scenarios. Then we offered several design options out of which the company has chosen a totally new iconic design for the product including a new user interface. Our engineers had designed every part for production and we built a production line for the plastic parts in China, including high-pressure injection molds and a quality assurance system that is based on the leading quality standards.

The product is being sold successfully and won the prestigious IDA and European Product Design awards.
