Photocoagulators cauterize blood vessels with heat generated by the laser beam. The laser creates tiny, controlled burns that create adhesive-forming scar tissue.
The old product used laser technology which worked well, but the user experience was not sufficient and needed improvement. So when redesigning the product, most of our work was focused on the user experience and the way the procedure is performed.
We enabled the physician to perform the laser treatment better, while he is focusing on the patient’s retina through a slit lamp and microscope, enabling him to see some indications for the laser parameters without having to look away to the screen in order to tune the laser.
Taga developed a designated screen that was large enough to accommodate new software features and added two large integrated toggle buttons, to allow blind control of the device.
Ophthalmic treatments products are a highly sought-after category and there is fierce competition. We created a new user experience that gave the company a competitive edge, we also redesigned the product itself and manufactured the first prototypes.
