Exablate is an incision-less, non-invasive surgery system that uses MR-guided focused ultrasound technology. The unique combination of high-intensity ultrasound waves, which are concentrated on the tumor without invading the body, with MRI guidance, enables both accurate targeting of the tissue, as well as direct, real-time, thermal monitoring of the treatment effect.
The ability to remove cancer cells non-invasively, without damaging healthy cells, is a real breakthrough in medical treatment.

The ability to remove cancer cells non-invasively, without damaging healthy cells, is a real breakthrough in medical treatment.
Our challenge was basically to design and develop a medical treatment cart that supports an ultrasound system and enables the surgery within the MRI.
We tackled various challenges, including finding an ergonomic solution to harness the patient to the cart in a way that will attach the relevant body organ to the ultrasound system for acoustic cupelling, maneuvering the large cart, and allowing it to connect easily and quickly with the MRI system (requiring the development of a water, air and electricity connector), and sliding the upper part of the bed with the patient on it, into the MRI.
We developed the system in a holistic way – the design, engineering, and production of the chassis, mechanisms, and enclosure parts of the system from A to Z.
Following the launch of Exablate, Insightec has made a significant leap forward in terms of technology and usability, the product has won several awards – including the Edison Award and Prix Galien Award and the company, which started working with Taga as a start-up worth now $1.3 Billion.
